Most articles about “Facebook ads cost” quote US figures or generic averages that have nothing to do with clinics in Egypt. These numbers come from real ad accounts, with clinic names removed.
Methodology: where the numbers come from
- Source: Meta Ads Manager, campaign level.
- Window: last 90 days to 24 September 2026.
- Sample: 11 ad accounts of clinics in Egypt, 514 campaigns, about EGP 1.24M total spend.
- Privacy: no clinic name or identifying specialty is shown. Each clinic is a letter.
- Calculation: each metric is computed per account, then we report the lower quartile, median and upper quartile. The median is more reliable here than the mean, because one large account can pull the average.

All Leads campaigns combined: EGP 273,411 spend and 12,524 results. Median EGP 26.1, lower quartile 22.1, upper quartile 59.6.
Important: a “result” in a Leads campaign can be a submitted form or an opened conversation, depending on how each campaign is set up. Treat this as a comparison benchmark, not the cost of a patient.
73% of spend went to engagement and messaging campaigns
Most clinics in Egypt rely on Engagement campaigns that send people to WhatsApp or Messenger. Meta counts the “result” of these campaigns in different ways: sometimes a conversation, sometimes a post engagement. That is why we did not publish one cost per result for engagement campaigns: the comparison would mislead.
That is the first practical lesson: if you don’t know what your campaign counts as a result, you can’t tell whether it is expensive or cheap.
A conversation is not a patient: the number to track
Every number above stops at the first step: an impression, a click or a conversation. A clinic earns from appointments that were booked and attended. The number that matters is:
Cost per attended booking = total spend ÷ bookings that showed up
Illustrative example (not from the sample): spend EGP 10,000 and get 400 conversations, and each conversation costs EGP 25. If only 40 of them book and attend, each real patient cost EGP 250. A clinic paying EGP 15 per conversation that books 5% is in fact more expensive than one paying EGP 30 that books 20%.
To measure it you need three things: clean tracking (Pixel + Conversions API), a source recorded for every booking in your system or front-desk sheet, and follow-up on no-shows.
How to use these numbers on your own account
- Compare CPM: well above EGP 67.2 usually means a narrow audience or heavy competition for the same people.
- Compare CTR: below 0.47% usually points to the creative or the offer, not the budget.
- Watch frequency: the sample median is 1.66. If frequency climbs while results drop, the audience is tired of the same ad.
- Don’t stop at the conversation: calculate cost per attended booking every month.
Frequently asked questions
What Facebook ads budget does a clinic in Egypt need?
There is no single number. Start from the monthly bookings you want and multiply by your cost per attended booking. If you don’t know it yet, start with a small test budget and measure it first.
Why does cost per result vary so much between clinics?
The numbers alone don’t tell you the cause. The usual factors are specialty, strength of the offer, creative quality, audience size, and which result the campaign is counting.
Do these numbers apply to Saudi Arabia and the UAE?
No. The whole sample is from Egypt. Ad costs in the Gulf are different and need a separate sample.
